Placement Preparation Club

Department is actively involved in preparing the students for placement related activities. The club organizes weekly contests on programming skills, Technical subjects and Aptitude. Winners of the contests are recognized in public with certificates of appreciation.

AKTU VIDEO & LECTURE SERIES for students of B.Tech (Computer Science & Engineering /Information Technology)/MCA)

IMS Engineering College was nominated by AKTU to prepare Video lecture series for Computer Science & Stream for the students of Engineering Colleges under AKTU during the period of Covid-19 lockdown. Total of 286 Videos along with lecture notes were uploaded by the faculty of Computer Science /Information Technology Department. The concerned faculty members also received a certificate of appreciation from AKTU.


2nd & 3rd prize at Hackathon organized by IPEC on 13-14th Feb 2020

Team of CS Students including Azeemun Ali, Deepak Singh, Aman Verma (3rd Yr) won 2nd prize for their project titled “Smart Communications” at Hackathon conducted by IPEC, Ghaziabad on 14th Feb 2020

Smart Hacks 2020 in collaboration with IIT Kanpur on 31 Jan 2020

CS department organized Smart Hacks 2020 in collaboration with IIT Kanpur. Online coding competition was held on 31 Jan 2020 & 8th Feb 2020. Total of 209 students participated in the competition

InOwnHome Startup

Our students Ajit Chaudhary(ECE), Prashant Mishra(CSE) and Ram Ashish Yadav(CSE), B.Tech(2016-2020) have done a Start-up "InOwnHome" which has now become InOwnHome Pvt. Ltd. Within 30 days of incorporation, they have achieved their milestone of covering 500+ houses. All three students are a strong believer that in the genre of technology there is a need for changing the way of living into quality, affordable and hassle-free living.


Participation in Google Hash Code

A student team "Alvon" participated in the HASH CODE, a very popular international coding competition that is being organized by Google.

Team members were Deepak Singh, Azeemushan Ali, Arunav Dey (3rd Yr students). This Team secured all India Rank of 1889 and Global Rank 8393. Department wish to congratulate Deepak Singh, Azeemushan Ali, Arunav Dey for their participation & doing well at national/international level.


Winners in Football Event

CS students Akash Pandey (3rd Yr), Jatin Dhariwal (2nd Yr), Vishal Rathi (2nd Yr) participated in Zest & Aamod 2020 annual cultural and sports fest organized by Shri Ram Murti Smarak College of Engineering and Technology, Bareilly.

Their team were declared the winners in Football event


IMSEC.CSE NOTES

Mr. Ashwani Kr, student of CS 4th yr has created an android app for teachers & students. It provides subset wise faculty notes for students. Currently the app is functional on play store with more than 250 downloads. It also provides the facility to upload & view question papers, assignments, see attendance from college portal.

Aim to remove dictation from classroom and bind the students and teachers into a single platform where they can learn, share and educate each other


Summer Internship at University of Louisville, USA

Ms. Rythem Chaudhary, students of CS department went for 10 week Summer internship during 3rd yr of study at Conn Center for Renewable Energy and Research, University of Louisville, USA summers of 2018-19 under the guidance of Dr Mahendra K. Sunkara (Department Chair, Computer Science & Engineering, University of Louisville).

She has successfully completed her internship working on a project entitled “KMC Simulation of Growth of Nanowire” with guidance from Dr. Mahendra Sunkara, the Director at Conn Centre for Renewable Energy Research at University of Louisville from June 11, 2018 to August 15, 2018.


Winners at A.K.T.U. State Level Cultural Fest (Pravah 2k19)

NEETISH (4th Yr), YASH GUPTA (3rd Yr) & YASH RAJ TRIPATHI (3rd Yr) were declared as winners of the Battle of Bands event at A.K.T.U. State Level Cultural Fest (Pravah 2k19) organized at Faculty of Architecture, Lucknow on 8th March 2019


Hexcopter Project

A team of CS students including Manish Bansal, Praveen Tyagi, Rohan, Aryan Singhal developed a Hexcopter with video surveillance facility. It is equipped with high end Go-Pro camera. The project aims at taking high quality pictures of agriculture crops and then analyze the health of these crops for day to day inspection. It also aims at adding water floating & water sampling capability for water pollution monitoring

Examination Project

Students of 4th year successfully developed an online platform for taking exams/quiz/coding tests.

Students are motivated to engage themselves in various self learning programs like online courses, internship programs, participation in coding/project contests, research paper publications.

  • More than 400 students successfully completed online courses on various technologies during lockdown period of Covid-19
  • More than 200 students are doing internship from various industries
  • All the students of final year publish their project results via research papers.
  • Department organizes weekly online contests on competitive coding & technical subjects like DBMS, Data Structure, C Programming, OOPs, Operating systems etc
  • Department has collaborations with few nearby IT industries to engage students in real time project development

1st Prize at Smart Odisha Hackathon

Research project by students titled “Post-Harvest Crop Management System Using IOT and AI” won 1st prize at smart Odisha hackathon held at Bhubaneswar, 13- 15 November, 2018. They won overall first prize and got Rs.1.25 Lakh cash money along with participation certificate, winning trophy and Memento.

Student project “Iron Fist” by Mr. Kamal Singh Bisht, Mr. Mukul Shisodia, Mr. Mubeen Haider

Won 1st prize with Cash Award of Rs 10000/- at Dr. A.P.J.Abdul Kalam Startup Conclave. This also won 1st prize in the IOT category at Speed-18 (Student Project exhibition on engineering design) at G.D Goenka, Gurgoan held on 16th March 18 with cash award of Rs 5000/-. Their project won 2nd prize at “Innovation Challenge”, IIT Roorkee in 2018

Summer Research Internship at University of Louisville, USA

Mr. Rajat Garg (B.Tech CSE 4th Yr student) completed his 8 weeks Summer Research Internship in Web Analysis at Conn Center for Renewable Energy and Research, University of Louisville, USA from June 5, 2017 to July 31, 2017 under the guidance of :

1) Dr. Adel Elmaghraby (Department Chair, Computer Science & Engineering, University of Louisville)
2) Dr. Jacek Jasinski (Materials Characterization Theme Leader, Conn Center for Renewable Energy Research).

During his Internship Period, he worked on a project entitled “Web based Analysis towards redefining Research Impact”.


IMSEC has signed a MOU in 2017-18 for University Alliances Program Associate Membership program with SAP. This is a SAP University Alliance Academic Educational Material Utilization contract for teaching purposes.

Under this contract SAP will provide access to the required SAP Academic Education Material on various high end technical courses & contents for teaching purpose. Faculty & students will receive invitation to SAP events, contests and competitions

Most Innovative Project award

Our students won a cash prize of Rs 5000 for their project titled – “Optical Card Reader” under the category “Most Innovative Project” at “SPEED-2017” - Student Project Exhibition , GD Goenka University
