Mission:To ensure an Environmentally safe , secure and healthy campus . Responsibilities:1.Analyse the effluent discharge from STP for monitoring its effective functioning . (This would ensure the waste water discharged from campus into municipal drains / water bodies are environmentally safe ) 2.Monitor the hygiene standards of hostel kitchens and cafeteria through regular collection of water samples , cooked and raw material , utensils , working areas for microbial analysis . ( This would help in ensuring better hygienic conditions for hostellers and visitors to canteen . The step would contribute to strengthening of confidence building measures among students and staff ) |
3.Analyse the microbial load of drinking water .
4.Suggest steps to increase green cover of the campus through regular plantation drives. Also suggest means for better management of plantations. ( This would ensure a healthy , environmentally friendly environment in the campus through gradual establishment of ecological balance )
5.Ensure biodegradation of waste to restrict the pollution from disposal of garbage , kitchen and garden waste . ( The bio-degradable products would ensure availability of organic supplement for maintenance of green cover and floriculture practices ).
6.Maintenance of flora and fauna record of the campus.
