The Department aims at promoting interests of students towards the latest technologies in Computer Science to make them suitable for serving the requirements of industry, government, society, and the scientific community. The department is actively involved in organizing industrial training, experts talks, industrial visits and other research oriented professional activities. Apart from the curriculum prescribed by AKTU students are given exposure of industry oriented concepts through value addition programs to make them gain practical exposure as per needs of the Industry.

IMS Engineering College was nominated by AKTU to prepare Video lecture series for Computer Science & Stream for the students of Engineering Colleges under AKTU during the period of Covid-19 lockdown. Total of 286 Videos along with lecture notes were uploaded by the faculty of Computer Science /Information Technology Department. The concerned faculty members also received a certificate of appreciation from AKTU.

InOwnHome Startup
Our students Ajit Chaudhary(ECE), Prashant Mishra(CSE) and Ram Ashish Yadav(CSE), B.Tech(2016-2020) have done a Start-up "InOwnHome" which has now become InOwnHome Pvt. Ltd. Within 30 days of incorporation, they have achieved their milestone of covering 500+ houses. All three students are a strong believer that in the genre of technology there is a need for changing the way of living into quality, affordable and hassle-free living.
Participation in Google Hash Code
A student team "Alvon" participated in the HASH CODE, a very popular international coding competition that is being organized by Google.
Team members were Deepak Singh, Azeemushan Ali, Arunav Dey (3rd Yr students). This Team secured all India Rank of 1889 and Global Rank 8393. Department wish to congratulate Deepak Singh, Azeemushan Ali, Arunav Dey for their participation & doing well at national/international level.

Mr. Ashwani Kr, student of CS 4th yr has created an android app for teachers & students. It provides subset wise faculty notes for students. Currently the app is functional on play store with more than 250 downloads. It also provides the facility to upload & view question papers, assignments, see attendance from college portal.
Aim to remove dictation from classroom and bind the students and teachers into a single platform where they can learn, share and educate each other
Summer Internship at University of Louisville, USA
Ms. Rythem Chaudhary, students of CS department went for 10 week Summer internship during 3rd yr of study at Conn Center for Renewable Energy and Research, University of Louisville, USA summers of 2018-19 under the guidance of Dr Mahendra K. Sunkara (Department Chair, Computer Science & Engineering, University of Louisville).
She has successfully completed her internship working on a project entitled “KMC Simulation of Growth of Nanowire” with guidance from Dr. Mahendra Sunkara, the Director at Conn Centre for Renewable Energy Research at University of Louisville from June 11, 2018 to August 15, 2018.

Hexcopter Project
A team of CS students including Manish Bansal, Praveen Tyagi, Rohan, Aryan Singhal developed a Hexcopter with video surveillance facility. It is equipped with high end Go-Pro camera. The project aims at taking high quality pictures of agriculture crops and then analyze the health of these crops for day to day inspection. It also aims at adding water floating & water sampling capability for water pollution monitoring

Mr. Rajat Garg (B.Tech CSE 4th Yr student) completed his 8 weeks Summer Research Internship in Web Analysis at Conn Center for Renewable Energy and Research, University of Louisville, USA from June 5, 2017 to July 31, 2017 under the guidance of :

2) Dr. Jacek Jasinski (Materials Characterization Theme Leader, Conn Center for Renewable Energy Research).
During his Internship Period, he worked on a project entitled “Web based Analysis towards redefining Research Impact”.
IMSEC has signed a MOU in 2017-18 for University Alliances Program Associate Membership program with SAP. This is a SAP University Alliance Academic Educational Material Utilization contract for teaching purposes.
Under this contract SAP will provide access to the required SAP Academic Education Material on various high end technical courses & contents for teaching purpose. Faculty & students will receive invitation to SAP events, contests and competitions
